WELCOME PASTOR BREITBARTH!
The people of Mammoth Lakes Lutheran Church extend to you our warmest welcome. Thank you for visiting our website. We hope that this gives you some basic information about who we are. We care about you and want to do all that we can to share God’s love with you and show God’s love for you.
Recently we have had a new pastor arrive among us, Pastor Marcus Breitbarth. Here is a little bit about Pastor Marcus. He came to us from St. Louis, Missouri where he was going to school at Concordia Seminary- St. Louis. At Concordia, Marcus received a Master of Divinity degree. This is Marcus’ first pastoral call. Prior to going to seminary, Marcus was a Lutheran high school social studies teacher at Martin Luther High School in Maspeth (Queens), New York.
Marcus met his wife Kimberly in 2001 while both were attending Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota. They were married in June 2005 and have two children, Katelyn, born in 2008, and Parker, born in 2011.
Marcus and his family are happy to be among the people at MLLC and to be in the community of Mammoth Lakes. Marcus is hoping to instruct others in who God is, what He has done for us, and what this means for our everyday life as well as for our eternity. Marcus will do all that he can to make the cross of Jesus the center of what is proclaimed and taught at MLLC.
Marcus envisions MLLC as a place that fosters the creating of disciples for Christ and the strengthening of disciples of Christ. This is living out Jesus’ instruction in Matthew 28:19-20 to “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”
Marcus envisions MLLC as a place where God uses our energy, time, talents and treasures for the building of His eternal kingdom and for the sharing of God’s love in doing our best to meet the spiritual, physical, mental, and social needs of those in our community.
